A Short Story about Mindo

 

Mindo is a beautiful village in the heart of the cloud forest in north-west Ecuador. The Patiño family originally migrated here from the south of the country 4 generations ago, where they established themselves as carpenters. Today, Diego and Wladi continue their family's craft and have kept much of the traditional methods of working with wood. Alongside their talent and passion for woodwork, they are both avid environmentalists and birdwatchers. Diego is the president of the natureguides of Mindo and Wladimir is an avid hummingbird photographer.
